The Samsung Galaxy S3 is here and it is only natural to want a comparison of the latest iconic handset from the Samsung stable and the iPhone 4S by Apple, that has been ruling the roost from the time it has been launched. Here is the Samsung Galaxy S3 vs iPhone 4S for you. Read on and find out which one has managed to outshine the other.
The cosmetic appearance of both the handsets is impeccable. The iPhone 4S looks similar to its predecessor while the S3 comes as a surprise to us. It has a slim body and a shiny back panel. I feel that both the handsets are equally good to look at, but the iPhone 4S loses out just because of the lack of the surprise element.
Coming to the screen of the handsets, the iPhone 4S has a 3.5 inch screen while the Samsung S3 is equipped with a 4.8 inch display and that ensures larger pictures. The iPhone 4S has an LED display where as the Samsung Galaxy S3 has the Super AMOLED screen. Thus, the visual experience offered by the S3 is far more enhanced as compared to the Apple iPhone 4S.
In the Galaxy S3 comparison iPhone 4S that I have compiled, the camera is the one aspect that is just the same for both the handsets. They both have an 8MP camera and a truckload of other features. There are the LED flashes that support these rear facing cameras and the general features of the handset are the geo-tagging, face recognition, image stabilization, digital zoom etc. Coming to the video recording capability of the cameras, they both can record videos in full HD.
The memory aspect of the iPhone 4S handset is one of the few negatives that it has. The handset comes in different variants with respect to the memory, but there is no external memory slot that has been provided and thus, there is no extra memory space that the user can rely on. But, this is not the case with the Samsung Galaxy S3 as there is space provided for the insertion of a microSD card that has a
space of upto 64GB.
The battery of the iPhone 4S is undoubtedly much more powerful than the Galaxy S3. The battery of the iPhone 4S supports a talk time of 14 hours whereas the Galaxy S3 can only support a talk time of 6 hours which is a huge disappointment. When it comes to the standby time the battery of the Galaxy S3 is more efficient as it offers 300 hours of standby time with a single recharge as compared to the 200 hours that are offered by the batter of the iPhone 4S.
After the comparison on the basis of the points that have mentioned here, I came to the conclusion that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is a better choice than the iPhone 4S, as it is a new phone and the overall features that it has to offer are a welcome change.
