The ME X1 is basically an Android 2.3 Gingerbread based tablet that has the WVGA technology. It has been designed keeping the Indian users in mind and thus has many great Indian apps and another noteworthy feature of the tablet is that it has the full HDMI playback feature.

Talking about the physical aspects of the tablet, it looks pretty attractive as it is very sleek and can be gripped easily. It is powered by a 1 GHz processor and that is quite decent, keeping in mind the price at which it is being sold. The X1 has a storage capacity of 512 MB. Besides this, it has an integrated memory of 4 GB that can be expanded up to 32 GB with the help of the micro SD slot that is integrated in the tablet.

X1 will be available with the Tata Photon data card in the near future. When HCL was asked to comment on this, they said that they were in the negotiation phase with Tata for the data card and simultaneously are in talks with other companies too for the same purpose. They will officially announce their tie-up with Tata in a few days from today.

The X1 is another tablet that is sure to create waves in the market as it is packed with outstanding features, but at the same time, the tablet has been priced quite reasonably. The tablet has a capacitive touchscreen. It also has an integrated 2 MP camera that is present at the lower end of the screen and that enable video calling. It comes with a 3500 mAh battery. Talking about connectivity, the tablet has GPRS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity. Needless to say that the 3G connectivity has to be established with the help of the USB modem, hence the Tata Photon data card.

The X1 tablet also has a music player which can support music in the MP3, AAC, AC3, WAV and WMA formats. It has a Full 1080p HD playback and is pre loaded with apps, thus you can use the tablet as soon as you unpack it. The pre-loaded apps include Cleartrip.com, Hungama, eBookstore and along with this the Me App store has been loaded into the tablet.

X1 comes with other goodies such as, a travel voucher worth Rs.2400 from Cleartrip, discount worth Rs.3000 on books that have been downloaded from Wink store and a month free subscription to Hungama and this enables the users not just to listen to music and watch videos, but also to download them.
